This liscenced Simpson's merchandise is a perfect example of how perceptions of nuclear power had pervaded popular culture by the 1990s. Although the portrayal of Homer Simpson's job at the Springfield nuclear power plant is satirical, Americans would have been familiar with what that type of job may have looked like through friends and family members employed in the industry. When the user looks through the lens in the back of this toy and holds it up to a light source, the viewer can see a color slide of "one of three wacky scenes".
