These Godzilla figures are unlicensed merchandise based off of a figure set produced by Yutaka in 1992. This set was made in Taiwan to a lower standard of quality than the officially licensed figures they mimicked. The counterfeiters went so far as to copy the packaging of the licensed merchandise almost exactly. Godzilla is a kaiju from the Godzilla franchise of science fiction films. Godzilla first debuted in a major motion picture in 1954. Godzilla has had a long lasting cultural impact both in Japan and in the West subsequently appearing in countless comic books, video games, novels, in numerous references throughout popular culture, and, of course, in many films since 1954.
