In Energy Encounters, visitors can explore the options of green energy alternatives, such as solar and wind power, and the role of nuclear power in today’s world.

Nuclear power is essential for the United States and the world to meet future energy needs. Nuclear energy provides nearly one-fifth of U.S. electricity (or about 18%). This exhibit examines the global reliance on various energy sources and how nuclear power can help satisfy those demands. Nuclear power plants use steam turbines to produce electricity from nuclear fission.
