[Albuquerque, NM]

Nuclear Science Week (NSW), an international, annual celebration to raise awareness and understanding of nuclear science and its applications, is pleased to announce that the upcoming NSW national event will be hosted at the world-renowned Fleet Science Center in San Diego, CA.

The event will kick off on Wednesday, October 11, from 6-8 pm, with nuclear industry partners and leaders gathering at an invitation-only VIP reception at Comic-Con Museum in Balboa Park. The expo will take place Thursday, October 12, from 10 am to 3 pm and promises to provide a unique opportunity for guests of all ages to engage with experts, participate in educational activities, and explore the many facets of nuclear science. The first 1,000 guests will receive free admission to the NSW expo and Fleet Science Center.

“Nuclear Science Week brings together scientists, educators, industry professionals, and the general public to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation for nuclear science and its contributions to various fields,” said Jennifer Hayden, President and CEO of the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History, and Chair of the NSW International Steering Committee. “By hosting this event at the Fleet Science Center in Balboa Park – the park’s most highly attended museum that sees over 1,000 visitors per day-NSW aims to create a dynamic and engaging environment for attendees.”

“Nuclear Science Week is dedicated to promoting education and inspiring the next generation of scientists. As part of the program, outreach activities will be arranged in collaboration with local schools offering students the opportunity to engage in hands-on experiments, demonstrations, and career exploration opportunities,” added Hayden.

“We’re excited to bring together experts, professionals, and the public to celebrate the remarkable achievements of nuclear science and its potential for shaping our future,” concluded Hayden.
